Mayrhofen offers one of the largest and most popular skiing areas in Tyrol. In addition to the wide choice of slopes attracting beginners, families, leisure skiers and professionals, Zillertal also has year-round glacier skiing. Numerous Alpine lodges and restaurants with fantastic sun terraces are great places for refreshment stops.

Skiing

Mayrhofen has two cable cars taking you directly from the town to skiing areas on the Ahorn and Penken mountains. The ski resort comprises 135 km of slopes. Penken is the larger skiing area which is connected to the slopes on Rastkogel and Eggalm.

Tobogganing

Tobogganing guarantees lively fun for the whole family! There are several toboggan runs in the upper Zillertal, incl. floodlit evening tobogganing. Alpine lodges can be reached on foot, by 'toboggan taxi' or cable car.

Cross-Country Skiing

Cross-country skiing is good for body, mind and soul. The trails are excellently prepared once the snow is at least 25 cm deep. There are four trails in the Burgschrofen area, 3 of which are also floodlit in the evening.

Paragliding/Tandem Flights

Experience the thrill of gliding and unlimited freedom in the air. Enjoy spectacular aerial views of the Zillertal Alps.

Winter Walking & Snow shoe trekking

Mayrhofen-Hippach holiday region in Zillertal is also a winter hiker’s paradise. Around 80 km of well-groomed winter hiking trails are waiting for you to explore them. A myriad of trails offer spectacular views of the breathtaking mountain scenery of the Zillertal Alps..
